At Tender Years Preschool, Naugatuck, our goal is to encourage a lifelong wonder through discovery and experience. We strive to establish a meaningful relationship with both you and your child. We are an enriched preschool program for children ages 3 to 5. It has been established to provide a warm atmosphere which will enhance the child’s ability to grow emotionally, physically, socially, and academically. We strive to meet the needs of each child through dramatic play, arts, and crafts, music, and readiness skills in all learning areas.
Our proven curriculums we follow are Connecticut Early Learning Developmental Sandards (ELDS) along with Handwriting Without Tears . We follow the state learning guildlines while having fun and being in our centers. Which include: Library Corner, Arts and Crafts Area, Housekeeping, Puppet Theater, Sensory Table, Blocks, and Trucks.
Our school year calendar is based on the Naugatuck Public School's calendar. We offer a few different programs based on your family's individual needs. We have a three day program (M,W,F), a two day program (T,Th), and a 5 day program (M-F). All of which are split up into AM and PM classes. Our Morning session operates from 9:00-11:30AM. Our Afternoon session operates from 12:30-3:00PM. We also offer a Lunch Box program which operates during both classes (9:00AM-3:00PM).
We LOVE to learn and play in our colorful classroom, however, we like to take learning to the next level and bring the children, along with a few parent volunteers, on walking fieldtrips. We love to go see Mr. Matt at the Library, the Mayor at town hall, and all of our firefighter friends at the firehouse. Whether in our classroom, on our playground or even on one of our walking field trips we strive to make everyday a fun learning experience.
